Dr. Danny Song is Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology, and also holds joint appointments in the Departments of Urology and Oncology.  He holds board certification in radiation oncology from the American Board of Radiology, and is an active member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology as well as the American Brachytherapy Society. 

Professional Activities

His clinical activities involve treating patients with cancers of the genitourinary tract (prostate, bladder, testicular cancers), for which he uses both external beam and brachytherapy to deliver therapeutic radiation.  Dr. Song’s research interests include development and refinement of new imaging methods to improve targeting of radiation, as well as innovative means of delivering higher doses of radiation.  He is currently funded by the Department of the Army to develop an improved seed visualization method for prostate brachytherapy.
